Otamatsuri is the beating heart of Africa's anime and manga community. Every year, thousands of fans from across Kenya and the continent gather at The Carnivore Grounds to celebrate East Asian pop culture in all its vibrant forms. The convention features a packed programme of cosplay championships, competitive gaming tournaments, live Japanese music and dance performances, industry panels, merchandise vendors, and artist alley showcases. Whether you are a lifelong fan or a curious newcomer, Otamatsuri offers something for everyone. Otamatsuri has grown from a modest meetup into Africa's premier anime event — a two-day festival that proves the continent's love for Japanese culture is as passionate as anywhere in the world.
